The Beloved Peony
Seems this year’s Peony season was sadly cut short by a string of record June highs in mid to upper 90’s.
We wait months, in the northern states, to kiss winter, snow and fridged temps goodbye so that we can usher in the beauty of spring and some long awaited, much needed, color! Enter…the Peony! Giant, soft, lovely, fragrant blooms! We can’t wait to clip and stuff the fluffy spheres into a vase. If you’re lucky enough to have them in your garden or have a neighbor kind enough to share…devour them while they’re in season; cut them, photograph them, bring ‘em to work….post them and tag a friend!
Pro Tip: Keep them outside overnight and let the ants finish their job of getting the opening started! :)
