Welcome to my world.

40 years ago I went to beauty school—I’m still behind the chair and loving it!

Hair was not my first love. Photography was where I discovered my creative side. I often point out that those vocations go pretty well together

Senior Portraits

Today’s High School Senior portrait sessions are fresh, relaxed, fun and often include a couple of outfit changes as well as locations.

Definitely not your mother’s High School portrait session! No, these are more than archiving the class and have morphed into capturing their personalities. I love that! My goal is always to make the students smile at their proofs and for the parents…happy tears.

Whether standing next to tall yellow daises, sitting on a bridge or crouching on a path or plopping down in a patch of dry ornamental grasses, in the end my eye wants just one thing... beautiful light on my subjects; surrounding is always secondary!

I once drove an hour west to a farm property with an amazing barn (which is the surrounding she wanted to be photographed in). I knew the owner and we made the trek. We walked all around the property and found the most amazing light no where near that barn and truth be told those were the shots she loved, ordered and placed in her yearbook. It really is about the light!

My recipe has always been:

Place your subject in great light and adjust for the background. If those elements don’t create magic in the frame, we move to a secondary location.

It’s so worth it. I pride myself on refusing to rely on photoshop because frankly, it’s important to let the students to shine! Once I find our sweet spot it’s hard to stop creating beautiful images!

Got a High School Senior?

I’d love to meet with them and dream up the perfect, personalized session!
