“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.”
– Henry Thoreau
Some folks despise change…others live for it. I am one that falls somewhere in the middle (largely because I understand that it’s necessary). Change, if it’s my idea, is awesome! When it’s not, it makes me uncomfortable. But what I have come to know is that change comes in many forms and as I age I’ve allowed it to come into my life and transform me. Be it a job, a death, a love interest, an injury, a road closure I didn’t expect…even the recent spike in my insurance premium! These and countless other “changes” are pushing me in directions I might not’ve otherwise considered. These alterations of my existence force me to stop and take inventory…a self audit, if you will. When I look back at my “WTF” moments I seem to have emerged victorious and dare I say it, happier. I guess what I’m saying is let’s be done with fearing change and make friends with it.
Change is, after all, why we are who we are! Perhaps if you’re not where you thought you’d be in your life, you need to invite some change into your life. In the end, if you don’t like the change…you can change it again! Embrace it and let it bring you the life you are to be living!
Happy New You!
